I ordered a “Margin Notes + 2 Readers + RUSH.” The notes were returned under 48 hours without compromising on the quality of work. Script Reader Pro is definitely the best screenwriting service out there.

Jason Chan

I chose the ‘margin notes’ and I’m really pleased I did. This is genuinely helpful, specific and detailed feedback of a very high standard. Going forward, I wouldn’t use any of the other services out there again.

Sonja Crockford

I’ve used Script Reader Pro services twice: Margin Notes and Line Edit. Not only were the weaknesses noted but how to fix them. The strengths were also pointed out. I will definitely use Script Reader Pro again.

Does your script make the grade? If so, it could get passed on to our industry contacts.

If your chosen writer really likes your script, they may ask if you’d like them to pass it on to their manager, agent or other industry contacts for consideration.

Everything you’ll get with our
Margin Notes service.

• Extensive on-the-page notes made directly onto your script. The pro of your choice will go page-by-page and scene-by-scene through the script giving feedback on its plot, structure, characters, scenes, dialogue, writing style, formatting, etc.

• Industry connections. If our reader really likes your script we may ask you if you’d like them to pass it on to their manager or agent or other industry contacts. (Note: There’s no Ratings Grid or “Recommend” grade with Margin Notes.)

• Free follow-up email service. Email us after receiving your Margin Notes with up to three questions, free of charge.

• Guaranteed five-star service. Our average client rating on Google and Facebook is 5/5 stars. You can read what other writers just like yourself say about our script coverage services on our Reviews page.

• Super-fast turnaround time. We strive to return all scripts back to writers as fast as possible. The standard turnaround time is approx 14 days, but if you need it back sooner you can choose a 3-Day or 7-Day Rush service at checkout.

How the process works

Ready to see your script how a pro screenwriter sees it? Get started by following the simple instructions below:

1. Choose a TV or Feature Margin Notes. You’ll be transferred to a secure checkout form. Don’t worry, it’s all very quick and easy.

2. Choose turnaround time. Our standard turnaround time is approximately 14 days. If you need your proofread back by a specific date, we recommend our 3- or 7-Day Rush service.

3. Make payment. When you’re ready to purchase you can do so via credit card, debit card, PayPal, ApplePay or Google Pay.

4. Upload script. Please attach your script as an EDITABLE file. Unfortunately, we’re unable to work on PDFs, or in Celtx due to the difficulties inherent in working in them.)

5. Choose preferred pro writer(s). You will have the option here to leave any note you may have for your pro too.

6. Hit send, kick back and relax. You’ll receive an email letting you know we’ve successfully received your script and to confirm your chosen turnaround time 🙂

Pick one of our pro screenwriters to give you a reader-reaction to your script’s characters, story, pacing, dialogue, etc. page-by-page, scene-by-scene.

(Please note: This price is for TV scripts up to 65 pages and movie scripts up to 125 pages. If yours is longer, you’ll be able to purchase extra pages during checkout, at $4 per page over 125.)

We accept scripts formatted to industry standard saved as an EDITABLE file, such as Fade In, Final Draft, Movie Magic and Script Studio.

Unfortunately, we don’t accept scripts written in Celtx or WriterDuet due to the difficulties inherent in accessing and editing within the program.

In this case, if you can export your script as a text (.txt) file, we can then upload it into one of the above professional screenwriting programs, complete the work, and then return to you as a .txt file. You will then be able to import this into Celtx or WriterDuet.

Every script that’s sent to us remains 100 percent the author’s copyright.

We will under no circumstances release, or let your script be viewed, by any third party without your prior consent. Not only that, but every idea we suggest or piece of feedback that you take on board and add to your script will be completely your own.

We also never accept royalties. We’re just here to help you make it as a screenwriter and all we ask is that you invite us to the premiere. 🙂

With that in mind, we don’t sign writers’ own NDAs.

We—and to be honest, 99 percent of people and companies out there—have zero interest in “stealing screenplays.” Managers, execs, producers, etc. will be interested in hiring you as a writer, not running off with one script.

And script consultancies like ourselves have no desire to do this either. We have our own careers and reputations to take care of and simply want to help you succeed too.

If you’re still worried, however, here’s the legal angle:

We recommend all screenwriters register their screenplays at the US copyright office and/or WGA West before sending their work out. It’s cheap, easy, and will protect you against any copyright infringement by law if it ever came to that.

Here’s a blog post on the subject you may find useful: How to Copyright a Script the Smart Way and Avoid These 5 Legal Pitfalls.

We have two types of turnaround time available:

1. Standard 14 days (approximate)

This means you will receive your coverage back roughly within two weeks. We cannot guarantee a return of your work exactly on Day 14—it could be a day or two later, so hang tight!

2. Rush

If you order a 3- or 7-Day Rush service, you will receive your coverage back three or seven days later, starting from the day after purchase.

For example, if you purchase a 3-Day Rush at 4 pm on a Monday, Day #1 of the countdown will start on Tuesday as the first full day. So you can expect your notes back no later than midnight Thursday.

Rush orders received after 2 pm PST will be processed the following morning and the turnaround countdown will start from that day.

For example, if you purchase a 3-Day Rush at 6 pm on a Monday, it’ll count as a Tuesday purchase and so Day #1 will be Wednesday and you’ll receive your notes back no later than midnight Friday.

(All times are Pacific Standard Time.)

You will be able to purchase extra pages during checkout at $2 each.

No, if you’d like all grammatical errors and formatting quirks flagged up as well as the Margin Notes, you’d need to purchase a Proofread/Format on top, or for a more in-depth edit a Line Edit.

Line Edit doesn’t include feedback notes on the page. It only includes description and dialogue edits on the page.

Margin Notes don’t include description and dialogue edits, only feedback notes.

Our readers are super busy and so, unfortunately, are unable to examine extra materials, such as synopses, treatments, TV bibles, novels, or character breakdowns for context.

Ideally, your script should make sense and work as a stand-alone piece when you send it to us, just like in a real-world submission.

If there’s something super important you think the reader should know about the story, however, feel free to let them know on the form during checkout.

If you have a synopsis, treatment, TV bible or outline and would like your chosen pro to give feedback on too, you can purchase Synopsis/Treatment Coverage here.

For character breakdowns, research notes, photos, videos, etc. please contact us at submissions[at] and we will give you a quote.

If you have any questions we haven’t covered, check out our knowledge base or feel free to email.
