Xan Wynne-Jones

I had an amazing experience with Script Reader Pro. I was having structural issues with my second act, and they pinpointed super quickly precisely the problem along with wise and detailed advice for a remedy. They go beyond the call of duty in answering questions afterwards too. I shall return.

Liz Rackley Williams

I agree with the other happy customers. Script Reader Pro’s advice is candid, actionable, on the mark and well worth the money. The readers have industry credentials – you aren’t in the dark about their qualifications.

Everything you’ll get with your
Synopsis/Treatment Coverage.

• 3+ or 6+ pages of in-depth feedback and practical suggestions on how to strengthen the core story before you start writing the script. No waffle. No unhelpful clichés. Just a solid action plan on its strengths and weaknesses and how best to develop the story.

• Free follow-up email service. We won’t just send you your notes and leave it at that. You can email us afterward with any questions you may have about the feedback at any time. (Within reason! One or two short questions are welcome but if you want to ask more we may need to charge a small fee to cover the time taken.)

• Guaranteed five-star service. Our average client rating on Google and Facebook is 5/5 stars. You can read what other writers just like yourself say about our script coverage services on our Reviews page.

• Super-fast turnaround time. We strive to return all writers’ script coverage as quickly as possible. The standard turnaround time is approx 14 days, but if you need it back sooner you can choose a 3-Day or 7-Day Rush service at checkout.

How the process works
step-by-step.

Ready to let a pro screenwriter help craft your story? Get started by following the simple instructions below:

1. Choose either Classic or Deluxe Synopsis/Treatment Coverage and add an additional service during checkout if required, such as a 3-Day or 7-Day Rush or 2-Reader service. (Our standard turnaround time is approx 14 days.)

2. Make a payment. Before purchasing, please check that your script is within the 4000-word limit. When you’re ready, you’ll be transferred to a secure payment gateway to purchase the service (plus any extra words) via credit card, debit card, ApplePay or PayPal.

3. Choose your preferred pro writer. At this stage, you’ll be able to pick who you would like to complete your Synopsis/Treatment Coverage. Then, upload your synopsis, treatment, TV bible, etc. and you’re good to go!

4. Sit back and relax. You’ll receive an email letting you know we’ve successfully received your synopsis and you will receive your coverage back in approximately 14 days from the date of purchase. (Or within your chosen Rush service turnaround time.)

Make sure your story is nailed BEFORE starting on the script.

Choose a pro screenwriter to help you by picking either 3+ or 6+ pages of feedback on your synopsis, treatment or outline.

(Please note: This price is for synopses up to 4000 words. If yours is longer, you’ll be able to purchase extra during checkout.)

FAQs

The standard turnaround time is approximately 14 days. If you order a 3-Day or 7-Day Rush, however, you’ll get your script back within that timeframe.

All times are Pacific Standard Time.

Scripts received after 5 pm PST will be processed the following morning.

No need to email us for an update if 14 days haven’t passed (or your chosen Rush time)—your chosen pro either has your script on their to-do list or are working on it. 🙂

Here’s the 2-step plan to picking the pro of your choice:

1. If you haven’t already, check out our writers’ profiles on our About Us page. There you’ll find their mini-bios and genre specialties.

2. During checkout, you’ll be asked for your first and second choice. If your first choice isn’t available your script will go to your second choice. In the unlikely event your second choice isn’t available, we’ll contact you.

Please note: If you leave your second choice as “I don’t mind” we’ll send your script to who’s available and best suited to your script’s genre.

Every script that’s sent to us remains 100 percent the author’s copyright.

We will under no circumstances release, or let your script be viewed, by any third party without your prior consent. Not only that, but every idea we suggest or piece of feedback that you take on board and add to your script will be completely your own.

We also never accept royalties. We’re just here to help you make it as a screenwriter and all we ask is that you invite us to the premiere. 🙂

With that in mind, we don’t sign writers’ own NDAs.

We—and to be honest, 99 percent of people and companies out there—have zero interest in “stealing screenplays.” Managers, execs, producers, etc. will be interested in hiring you as a writer, not running off with one script.

And script consultancies like ourselves have no desire to do this either. We have our own careers and reputations to take care of and simply want to help you succeed too.

If you’re still worried, however, here’s the legal angle:

We recommend all screenwriters register their screenplays at the US copyright office and/or WGA West before sending their work out. It’s cheap, easy, and will protect you against any copyright infringement by law if it ever came to that.

Here’s a blog post on the subject you may find useful: How to Copyright a Script the Smart Way and Avoid These 5 Legal Pitfalls.
